So I'm culling some old CD's (remember those?) and I run across a song on a blank burned mix cd with no text, no label..nothing. Google "Jenny's got a boyfriend" and here I am.
Just thought you'd like to hear from someone who just listened to a couple of your songs. Pretty catchy!

As a woman just starting the difcifult task of transition (that's "sex-change" to most people), I'm really glad that Nora came out of the experience intact. It's difcifult enough "faking male" when you have a masculine bodily frame and male hormones. I can't imagine what it would be like without those aids, and the constant brainwashing you do to yourself since childhood, telling yourself you can't really be female. Now it's easier for young girls in this horrible situation : the medical research over the last 10 years has shown that the brain is sexually dimorphic (ie Male and Female brains differ far more than we thought) and that it's possible to be neurologically Intersexed (Male brain in female body, or the reverse). So many transition now in their teens - they're usually aware of their situation by age 5, after all. If they can afford it, it costs an average of $100,000, usually none of it covered by insurance, and by a recent ruling of the IRS, the surgery isn't tax-deductable.To voluntarily go into a situation of "Gender Dysphoria" is horribly dangerous, as Nora's now well aware, but obviously wasn't when she started. To manage it for 18 months is a staggering achievement. But please don't do it again! Any person with Transsexualism (Neurological Intersex) could have told her how incredibly risky her experiment was. Gender isn't a "lifestyle choice" or a "social construct", it's a biological setting that you mess with at your own peril. Nora, I'm just glad you're OK now. If you find you have any unleasant long-term effects, there's some online support groups that could maybe help - feel free to e-mail me for details. Mainly women who have been there and done that, but for rather longer than 18 months. We try to help each other, and spouses and partners too. By your actions, you qualify.Very best wishes, Zoe

Never to Old to Rock and Roll
Surfing the Net I came across a song “Never to Old to Rock and Roll” by an 80’s Band Tokyo Rose. I checked out their website tokyorose.biz and they seemed mighty proud that they had been battling the music industry for three decades.
Ironically they have accepted the changes and have welcomed the internet with open arms by promoting My Place a song about the dangers of to much internet use. The lyrics “Do you remember how it used to be Life before we had Computer screens we used to make friends face to face now we just stare, stare into space”.

In late 1999, when Napster was really cool and mp3.com had real mp3's... I stumbled across "Giving Up & Letting Go". I still play this song regularly on my iPod. A classy song complete with whiny violin & depth of feeling. Love it.

I remember the first time i ever saw you guys. Farm club i think it was. I was younger and it was the show on after wrestling, yes i was a geek then. Anyways, you guys played, Jenny. The song stuck in my head for ever. Months and months past before i ever got around to getting some of your material. The thing that always stuck in my head was the interview where your keyboardist was asked if she could sing by you and she replied "....yeah; in the shower"
I miss you guys, I'm sad that at that time i wasn't able to see you guys play live.
you still rock in my book!

I find it funny that I've been checking your website for, what, three years now? I've been spreading Hello around all this time, gotten back at MP3.com - I'm just waiting for that CD to become available again! Great to see the site updated, though.
Audra writes:
Good greif - if you got a CD at MP3.com, that must have been at least 6 years ago! Time flies, eh? I appreciate you spreading the word but the band is no more. We still have our CD for sale but only in digital form these days :-)

I have been a big fan of your music for years...back when you had your catalogue up on MP3.com While Jose and the Pussycats was the first piece I heard, I really like oceanside the most. If you decide to do some performances within 12 hours of the boarder in the future I would definately come down to hear you.
I am very excited that I can buy your work now. I have just bought everything you have up so far and get the rest so I can have a paid for set. keep up the great work

Oceanside definitely has a special place in my heart too. It's about my first love whom I met while vacationing at the beach. Fast forward many many years and we found each other again, had a baby, and work hand in hand everyday in our business, http://rock-n-roll-design.com & http://karmasites.com . How's that for a happy ending?!
